What we want

Leipzig’s music scene has enormous potential — but it often lacks real points of connection. That’s where we come in: we want to strengthen the networks between the city’s key players and open up new creative and economic opportunities.

Today, Leipzig is home to countless artists, labels, agencies, producers, publishers, and many other actors — a creative ecosystem that already extends into fields like film, TV, and gaming. This young, diverse, and growing pop music scene holds tremendous cultural and economic potential. A recent study by the City of Leipzig shows that the local music economy plays a remarkable role in nationwide comparison.

And yet many creatives still look to Berlin, Hamburg, or Cologne for collaborations — even though much of what they need can be found right on their doorstep. We want to change that. Because every sector benefits from a strong network, short distances, and genuine support.

Under the name LE:NXT, the first exclusive industry gathering took place in Leipzig in February 2026, attracting over 200 guests. In addition to our opening act, Josi Miller, we had three fantastic up-and-coming artists on stage who were able to present their music to an industry audience in short showcase slots. They were Deslin Ami Kaba, Holunder, and Enni. We also had great panel discussions with Yannic Schemion from VUT and Martin Böttcher, the CEO of VOXA, who not only hosted the event by providing their company premises but also supported us with merchandise and printed materials.

Planning for next year’s edition is already underway. We are also trying to organize a smaller, semi-annual meeting so that we can get together and exchange ideas more often than once a year. If you have ideas for similar projects or collaborations, we always look forward to hearing from you!
